If you missed the keynote please watch the interviews seen HERE. Please post below a short introduction about yourself, your interests/family, what you teach, where you teach, and anything else you would like to include. I teach 6th grade science at Bolich Middle School in Cuyahoga Falls, northeast Ohio. This is my 19th year in either math, science, or both. I live in Twinsburg with my husband and our two dogs. My mom, sister, two nieces, and nephew live up the street.

I agree. Part of the mindset is that some parents feel their children can do no wrong and that the teacher is the enemy. I, at times, feel paralyzed. Many parents defend their children's every move no matter what. I've even been told I can't give a consequence because it's my word against the students. I've read in one of Ron Clark's other books about a time when he explained to parents: Just trust me. Trust that I know what I'm doing and that I want the best for your child, too.

I agree with Kelly, that Ron prompted some self-examination. I want to be a runner. The opportunity to attend a conference like this keeps my passion burning.

Where do I click to see the questions for 2/22--2/28? Also, I am still waiting for my copy of the book to arrive from Amazon, so I may not be able to respond right away.
